Drugs Don’t Work Here – Georgia

We are now part of the Drugs Don’t Work Program, here in Georgia.

As part of the Program, we are now required to provide ongoing substance abuse training, and will be doing so via a monthly newsletter.

The illegal use of drugs and the abuse of alcohol are problems that invade the workplace, endangering the health and safety of the abusers and those who work around them. Whitco Roofing, Inc. is commited to creating and maintaining a workplace free of substance abuse without jeopardizing valuued employees job security.

To address this problem, Whitco Roofing has developed a policy regarding the illegal use of drugs and the abuse of alcohol that we believe best serves the interests of all employees. We are proud to be part of the drugs don’t work here in Georgia program.

North Georgia Facing Flood Threats

Rain moving into north Georgia is raising the threat of flooding. This is the flood season or the beginning of the flood season in the state of Georgia. Besides flash floods, severe storms would bring a threat of tornadoes, hail, lightning and up to three inches of rain is expected today.

Georgia’s famous red clay and hard surfaces, such as pavement and building’s, make it difficult for the rain to soak in, which causes runoff and overflowing waterways. The lack of vegetation this time of year also doesn’t help.

The rain would stop around 1 a.m. Friday, bringing sunshine and highs around 60 degrees for the next couple of days.

Whitco Roofing Sponsors 2011 Membership Picnic for Thomasville Landmarks

Thomasville, GA – Warren Avenue was closed to traffic at Seward, Love and Hansell to allow our membership to roam freely!  More than 250 of our Members and their guests enjoyed delicious food from Capers Catering, danced in the street to the music of the Johnnie Marshall Band, and toured the neighborhood.

 

 

For those who aren’t aware of the back story, what is now the Warren Avenue/Love Street Historic District was once a neighborhood in decline until committed citizens and Thomasville Landmarks stepped in.
